 It seems fitting to show you vultures that we are indeed for real.  The weapons  are real, and as skilled and practiced as we are required to be, sometimes mishaps do happen.  Such is the nature of live blade.  Despite the blood and guts, we are still safer than groups that perform choreography.  After all, a constant state of practiced alertness and honed reflexes creates less hazard than a slip of memory in a choreography.



   
                                                                


This young gentleman received his badge of courage during the course of competition in The Prize, a live blade tournament that occurs twice a year.  The tournament is open to all qualified practitioners of live blade. The Prize in June is on the national level, with contestants traveling from different states to compete for glory and bragging rights, as well as plunder put up by the other contestants who gamble their possesions on their skill.
