The Rogues' Gallery

Here lurk the rogues, thieves, cutthroats, and regular people who are dislocated by the tumultuous
times of the Thirty Years War.  Some are orphans who desire home and family,
others merely wish to
stay alive as long as possible.  In an effort to escape the Black Death and
starvation, during the con-
tinuous power struggles of the period, Colonel Walter Buttler's Dragoons
are an itinerant band of
mercenaries selling their services to the highest bidder.

Colonel Walter Buttler's Dragoons

Musqueteers and other westerners

Hailing from Bremen of the Holy Roman Empire of the German nations, Fredrieck is the Rittemeister,
the commanding officer, of the musqueteers of Colonel Walter Buttler's Dragoons.  The son of a minor
nobleman, Fredrieck spent his youthful years in Treviso training in the martial arts under the Italian
master Giacomo di Grassi.   Upon the death of his father, he returned home to find his holdings razed
to the ground by marauders.  With nothing to tie him to his birthright, Fredrieck von Bremen left the
home of his ancestors to seek his destiny with Colonel Walter Buttler’s Dragoons.  His likes include
heavy german beer (none of that foreign swill), heavy german frauleins, and a lightning-quick blade.
Dislikes include green meat, green vegetables, and limp wrists.

Descended from the Mongols who invaded Wallachia centuries ago, the enigmatic soldier known only
as Ari came from the humble beginnings of an orphan living in the streets of Bucharest.  After being
embroiled in the underground current of revolt against the Turks, Ari left his homeland to seek fortune
and adventure elsewhere, drifting north from one conflict to another, until he finds a home with
Colonel Walter Buttler’s Dragoons. Armed with a chip on his shoulder and a penchant for violence,
Ari is aide-de-camp to the Rittemeister
.

Every army needs a religious man to justify their activities.  The man for the job amongst the dragoons
is the illustrious Bishop Gregorio de Chaisson, a man who travels with the dragoons by way of the New
World.  Follow his tale as he roots out heresy and imposes his, er, God's way upon the unbelievers.
